It is a musical tale about a tortoise who, rejected by his older brothers, sets off alone across the world in search of happiness. On this journey, he realises many important things, one of which is that happiness is different for everyone.
One of the oldest productions of our theater, it is distinguished by its inventive set design (as if we were seeing the world through the eyes of a tortoise), its unexpectedly humorous treatment of the characters (e.g. the bird of happiness, endowed with magical powers but a poor mind) and the improvisations of the cast.
Irmantas Jankaitis has been acting in the play since 1998. This is the debut of this popular dramatic actor in puppet theatre, which has become his introduction to the profession of a puppeteer (Irmantas plays more than ten different characters here!). Today, Jankaitis is one of the most prominent creators of "Lėlė".
