Liljana Janavičienė
DECORATOR- ARTIST, PUPPET MASTER

Born in 1957 in Omsk, Russia. 1976 - graduated from Vilnius 21 secondary school. 1978 - graduated from Vilnius Four-Year Adult School. From 1981 to 1984, from 1985 to 1992, from 1994 to 2014 L. Janavičienė worked as a prop artist at Vilnius Lėlė Theatre; since 2014 she has been a theatre artist-prop artist. In 1984-1985 she worked as a prop sculptor at the Lithuanian Academic Drama Theatre (now the Lithuanian National Drama Theatre). 1993 - 1994 - Head of the puppet theatre of the children's club "Liepsnelė". From 1988 to 1994 she acted and created plays in the family theatre "Marijos teatras". From 1985 to 1992 she taught puppet theatre technology at the Vilnius School of Culture (now Vilnius College) and from 2008 to 2010 at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. From 1995 to 1998, she participated as a performer and artist in the creative activities of Vega Vaičiūnaitė's environmental theatre "Miraklis".

L. Janavičienė has collaborated with the Vilnius Old Town Theatre, Kaunas State Puppet Theatre, Klaipėda Drama Theatre, State Youth Theatre, Lithuanian Russian Drama Theatre and Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, where she has designed sets for performances and consulted the creators on the issues of puppetry technologies.
