Born in 1957 in Šilutė. In 1979 he graduated from as a puppet theatre actor at the Lithuanian State Conservatory (now the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre; course mentors D. Tamulevičiūtė and V. Mazūras). From 1989 to 1990 he studied at the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors in Moscow with Rein Agur. In 1979-1992 he was an actor of Vilnius Theatre Lėlė, in 1989-1992 – the director and artist of Telšiai Puppet Theatre Studio. In 2009-2012 – the artistic director of Vilnius Theatre Lėlė, he was teaching puppet theatre at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. A. Mikutis created scenography, directed performances at Vilnius Theatre Lėlė, Vilnius Old Town Theatre, Table Theatre, Šilutė Chamber Drama and Stained-Glass Puppet Rainbow theatres and Martynas Mažvydas National Library Theatre Boy the Pea. Also created puppet performances in television. In Lithuania, A. Mikutis is known not only as a puppet theatre director, but also as a jeweler who creates from amber, ivory and wood. Since 1995 he has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists’ Union, since 2004 – a member of the Lithuanian National UNIMA Centre. Since 1985 he has been participating in national and international jewelry exhibitions.
