Baltic Visual Theatre Showcase is a biennial event dedicated to presenting contemporary visual performance art from Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania. The project idea, born in 2018 in collaboration with Vilnius Puppet Theatre LĖLĖ, Tallinn State Youth Theatre and the National Centre of ASSITEJ in Latvia, was successfully implemented for the first time in 2022 in Tallinn, Estonia. In 2024, the showcase is moving to Lithuania.
From 13 to15 September, works by Vilnius Puppet Theatre, Kaunas State Puppet Theatre, Klaipėda Puppet Theatre, Estonian Theatre for Young Audiences, Latvia Puppet Theatre, Cēsis little Theatre and Gertruda Street Theatre, directed by Erik Alalooga, Gintarė Radvilavičiūtė, Edgaras Kaufelds, and others, will be presented in Vilnius. The festival programme will feature nine puppet and object, physical and non-verbal theatre performances for children and adults. The artistic programme of the showcase will be complemented by lectures and discussions on contemporary visual theatre, its opportunities, and challenges.
